Aims and Scope
The Noise Control Engineering Jounral (NCEJ) is the pre-eminent academic journal of noise control. It is the International Journal of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA.
NCEJ reaches noise control professionals around the world, covering over 50 national noise control societies and institutes.
INCE-USA encourages you to submit your next paper to NCEJ. Choosing NCEJ:

Submissions to NCEJ receive thorough review by INCE peers. Final acceptance of any submission is solely based on the outcome of the anonymous peer review process.
Journal information
NCEJ is published quarterly with announcements on LinkedIn, the INCE-USA website (https://www.inceusa.org/publications/noise-control-engineering-journal/), and Ingenta Connect (https://www.ingentaconnect.com/content/ince/ncej/latest#:~:text=NCEJ is a peer reviewed Technical journal published every two). The articles are avilalbe from the webiste to INCE-USA members and at the INCE-USA Digital Library at Ingenta Connect.
Published since June of 1973, NCEJ has been an oustanding source of information to researchers and practicing engineers in noise control for over a half-century. NCEJ is well known for the insight and useful infomration provided by its articles.
All submissions to NCEJ go through a double blind review process. The reviewers do not receive author identifying information and the authors do not review information identifying the reviewrs.
NCEJ offers authors the option of publishing their papers thourgh a regular subscription model or with Open Access. Authors still have the option of publishing with access through
the INCE Digital Library or subscriptions at no charge to the author.
Open Access Publication Option
Authors may choose this option if they wish to have their accepted manuscripts published open access immediately upon
publication without any embargo period. Open access might be a requirement of their institutions or research funders,
allowing non-subscribers of the journal to access an article free-of-charge.
For this option, authors, their institutions or their research funders are required to pay an Article Publication Charge
(APC) of $1,300 or $1,000 for INCE-USA members. Receipt of payment is a prerequisite of publishing the article open

Journal statistics
Acceptance rate: The average varies between 30-40%.
Average time between submission & first decision: This time is highly variable, but it averages around 2-3 monhts.
Average time between submission & publication: Typically this time is between 6-7 months.
Publication fee
There is no charge for publication in NCEJ. The only charge is the author elects to have an open access license. This fee is explained above.
